The lights are off, the rent is due, there is no money, and the baby is hungry. You are alone and abandoned by people you thought you knew.

            This tragic scene plays daily for hundreds of young single mothers, who graduated from childhood to parenthood much too soon. We tend to be blind to things we choose not to see; but we pay the price in child abuse, neglect, delinquency, crime, broken lives and impoverished communities.

            The House of Wisdom Restart Center rescues young single mothers and their children; combining safe stable housing, child care, parenting skills, educational enhancement, and job preparation and placement. They enter our house shattered by fear and hopelessness, and leave with dignity and competence; confident they are prepared for a better life. The need is great, the need is now! Won’t you help?

            We need contributions large and small, in money or in-kind. We need volunteers willing to give of themselves in the cause of hope. We need employers willing to train and employ and give a deserving single parent a new start.

Come see what we do, meet the people we serve, and look into their eyes. The House of Wisdom Restart Center stops the pain; because life shouldn’t have to hurt.

Mothers will be able to live at the home with their children.  They'll also get mentors and participate in job training.
